FCT Police Successfully Apprehend Dogo Saleh

On March 3, 2025, operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command neutralized a notorious bandit and kidnap kingpin, Salisu Mohammed, alias “Dogo Saleh.” This operation was part of an intensified counter-kidnapping initiative aimed at dismantling a syndicate responsible for violent crimes along the Kaduna-Lokoja-Enugu highway and within the FCT.

Acting on credible intelligence regarding the movement of bandits into the FCT, the Officer-in-Charge of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit led operatives to intercept and arrest Mohammed at Gidan Abe Forest while he was en route to Bwari Area Council.

Mohammed, a 21-year-old from Baban Saural village in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, was identified as a notorious hitman for bandit leaders operating in Rijana Forest, Kaduna State. He had terrorized communities along major highways, kidnapping unsuspecting victims and extorting substantial ransoms.

During the operation, Mohammed attempted to evade capture, abandoning his possessions, which included an AK-49 rifle with two magazines, 60 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, and ₦3,000,000 in cash—proceeds from previous kidnappings. Investigations linked him to several high-profile kidnappings and killings, including:

• Kyauta Village, Chikun LGA (two years ago): Two individuals, including a security officer, were kidnapped. Despite a ransom of millions of naira being paid, the officer was later killed.
• Kike Village (one year ago): The wife of a security officer was kidnapped, with a ransom of millions of naira collected.
• Bagada Village (five months ago): Three individuals were kidnapped, resulting in a ransom of millions of naira being extorted.

This successful operation underscores the FCT Police Command’s commitment to combating criminal elements and ensuring the safety of residents within the Federal Capital Territory and neighboring states.
