FCT Police Confirm Bomb Explosion at Islamaiyya School: Two Bomb Carriers Reportedly Deceased

Tragic Bomb Explosion at Islamaiyya School: FCT Police Report on Casualties Among Bomb Carriers

On January 6, 2025, an explosion occurred at Tsangagyar Sani Uthman Islamiyya School in Kuchibuyi Village, Bwari Area Council, Abuja, resulting in the death of one student and injuries to four others.

Preliminary investigations by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command revealed that three men from Katsina State had visited the school’s owner, Mallam Adamu Ashimu.

The men are suspected of bringing an improvised explosive device (IED) to the school. Tragically, two of the men died in the explosion while handling the device on the school’s veranda.

The third man and a female trader sustained severe injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment under police supervision.

The FCT Police Command has taken Mallam Adamu Ashimu into custody for questioning as part of the ongoing investigation.
