The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has successfully rescued a five-year-old girl, Miracle Yakubu, and arrested a 46-year-old man, Nawaisi Abdullahi, in connection with her alleged abduction.
The incident occurred on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at approximately 10:00 AM, when operatives from the Utako Police Division, in collaboration with local vigilantes, responded to a distress call. They observed Abdullahi walking with the child near the Mobil Filling Station along Jabi Expressway, heading toward an unknown destination.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Abdullahi had taken Miracle without the consent of her mother, a local bean cake vendor in Utako Village. Upon intervention, the police secured the child and reunited her with her family.
The suspect is currently in police custody, and further investigations are ongoing to ascertain the full circumstances of the incident. The FCT Police Command has commended the swift response of the officers and the collaboration of local vigilantes in ensuring the safe return of the child.
