The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared the following dates as public holidays:
This announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who extended warm greetings to all Nigerians and encouraged citizens to reflect on the values of love, peace, and unity that the festive season embodies.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo emphasized the importance of fostering harmony and strengthening bonds within families and communities during this period. He stated, “The Christmas season is a good moment for both spiritual reflection and national renewal.
As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, let us demonstrate kindness and extend goodwill to one another, irrespective of our differences.”
The Minister also reassured citizens of the government’s commitment to ensuring peace, security, and prosperity across the nation, expressing optimism that the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s administration will usher in a more prosperous 2025.
