FIFA’s $125M Prize: A Game-Changer for Club World Cup

FIFA has announced that the winner of the 2025 Club World Cup will receive up to $125 million from a total prize pool of $1 billion.

The tournament, set to take place in the United States from June 14 to July 13, 2025, will feature 32 teams. The prize money distribution includes a participation fee of $9.55 million for each club, with additional earnings based on performance:

  • Group Stage: $2 million per win, $1 million per draw.
  • Round of 16: An additional $7.5 million.
  • Quarter-finals: An additional $13.125 million.
  • Semi-finals: An additional $21 million.
  • Finalist: An additional $30 million.
  • Champion: An additional $40 million.

This structure allows a club to accumulate earnings throughout the tournament, with the champion potentially securing up to $125 million. FIFA President Gianni Infantino emphasized that all revenues from the tournament will be distributed to the participating clubs, with FIFA’s reserves remaining untouched and intended for global football development.

Additionally, FIFA plans to allocate a portion of the prize money to clubs not participating in the tournament, promoting solidarity and supporting football development worldwide.
