A fire broke out early this morning at Onitsha Main Market in Anambra State, causing significant damage to several sections. The blaze began around 6:20 a.m. on Ifejika Street, near Sokoto Road, and quickly spread to adjacent buildings.

Firefighters from the Anambra State Fire Service responded promptly to the distress call and are currently working to contain the fire. Chukwudi Chiketa, Head of the Media and Publicity Unit of the Anambra State Fire Service, assured the public that the situation is under control and urged residents to remain calm.
