Firefighters Save Mother and Child from Kwara Blaze

Heroic Rescue: Woman and Baby Saved from Kwara Fire

​On March 20, 2025, the Kwara State Fire Service rescued a nursing mother and her one-year-old child from a fire at their residence on Aiyegbede Street, Awolowo, Tanke, Ilorin.

The fire, attributed to a power surge, was first noticed by a neighbor, Mr. Owolabi, who alerted other residents.

The prompt response of the fire service limited the damage to the sitting room of the two-bedroom flat.

The Director of the Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John, emphasized the importance of fire safety precautions and commended the residents for their bravery in assisting the victims.
