On March 20, 2025, the Kwara State Fire Service rescued a nursing mother and her one-year-old child from a fire at their residence on Aiyegbede Street, Awolowo, Tanke, Ilorin.
The fire, attributed to a power surge, was first noticed by a neighbor, Mr. Owolabi, who alerted other residents.
The prompt response of the fire service limited the damage to the sitting room of the two-bedroom flat.
