Arthur Melo, the Brazilian midfielder currently playing for Girona FC, was the victim of a robbery in Barcelona on Thursday afternoon, April 3, 2025. While retrieving a parking ticket at a facility on Passeig de Gràcia around 4:00 PM, an assailant approached him from behind and swiftly removed his luxury watch.
The thief then fled to a waiting motorcycle, driven by an accomplice, and both escaped the scene. Fortunately, Arthur was unharmed and promptly reported the incident to the authorities.
Despite the unsettling experience, Arthur participated in Girona’s training session the following day and is expected to be available for their upcoming match against Alavés.
This incident is not the first time Arthur has been targeted by criminals in Barcelona. In May 2019, during his tenure with FC Barcelona, his residence was burglarized while he was playing in a UEFA Champions League match against Liverpool. The intruders threatened his brother with a screwdriver and stole various valuables, including watches.
