
Massive Theft: How a N5m Car Ended Up Sold for N800k
On Thursday, January 30, 2025, the Chief Magistrate Court 2 in Yola, Adamawa State, ordered the remand of four individuals at the Yola Correctional Centre on charges of criminal conspiracy and theft. The accused allegedly stole a Toyota Camry valued at ₦5 million and sold it for ₦800,000.
The defendants, identified as Abubakar Mohammed (32), Mohammed Bello (30), Abubakar Usman (28), and Abubakar Sadiq (27), are facing a four-count charge related to the incident. The prosecution alleges that the accused conspired to steal the vehicle and subsequently sold it at a significantly undervalued price.
The court has adjourned the case to February 15, 2025, for further hearing. In the meantime, the accused will remain in custody at the Yola Correctional Centre.
