Omar bin Laden, the son of al-Qaeda founder Osama bin Laden, has been permanently banned from entering France.
This decision was made by French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau after Omar’s social media posts in 2023 were found to glorify terrorism, particularly praising his father.
Omar had been living in Normandy since 2016, where he worked as an artist, but was expelled in 2023 and initially banned for two years.
The recent ruling extends the ban indefinitely, preventing him from returning to the country under any circumstances.
Omar had previously attempted to distance himself from his father’s actions, but French authorities cited his social media activity as grounds for this decision, signaling a firm stance against any perceived support of terrorism.
