Free Train Rides for Nigerians: FG’s Exciting Festive Season Offer

Enjoy Complimentary Train Travel in Nigeria from Dec 20 to Jan 5

The Federal Government (FG) has announced free train rides for Nigerians across the country during the festive season, from December 20, 2024, to January 5, 2025.

This initiative is aimed at easing transportation costs and ensuring citizens can travel safely and affordably for the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

The Minister of Transportation, in a statement, explained that the gesture is part of the government’s efforts to provide relief to Nigerians during the holidays amid economic challenges.

The free rides will apply to major train routes, including the Abuja-Kaduna, Lagos-Ibadan, Warri-Itakpe, and other operational rail services.

The Minister urged citizens to take advantage of the opportunity while advising passengers to adhere to safety guidelines and maintain order at the train stations.

He also assured Nigerians that adequate security measures would be in place to guarantee their safety throughout the period.

This announcement has been met with appreciation from many Nigerians, who see it as a timely intervention to ease the financial burden of holiday travel.
