A man implicated in the 2013 rape case involving former Brazilian footballer Robinho has been found dead in São Paulo, Brazil. The individual reportedly fell from an 11th-floor apartment, leading to his death.
Robinho, who played for clubs including Manchester City, Real Madrid, and AC Milan, was convicted in 2017 by an Italian court for his involvement in the gang rape of a woman at a Milan nightclub in 2013.
The conviction was upheld by Italy’s Supreme Court in 2022, resulting in a nine-year prison sentence. In March 2024, Brazilian judges ruled that Robinho must serve his sentence in Brazil, as the country’s constitution prohibits the extradition of its citizens.
The deceased was among the individuals implicated alongside Robinho in the 2013 incident. His body was discovered on Tuesday evening in São Paulo.
