FRSC Initiates Investigation and Legal Action on Passenger Assault Case

Prosecution Ordered by FRSC for Assault on Personnel: What You Need to Know

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has launched an investigation into an incident where a female passenger physically assaulted their personnel during a vehicle stop in Lagos.

The incident occurred on November 7, 2024, when the FRSC team flagged down a vehicle for a seatbelt violation and discovered expired papers, leading to the vehicle’s impoundment.

While the driver complied, the passenger became aggressive, verbally assaulted the officers, and later physically attacked them despite efforts to calm her down.

The authorities have ordered her prosecution. The incident highlights the importance of following legal grievance processes rather than resorting to violence against law enforcement officers.
