Fubara Denies Militancy Links: The Truth Behind the Allegations

Fubara’s Firm Stand: Addressing Militancy Allegations Head-On

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has firmly denied any connections to militant groups, following allegations linking him to threats against federal interests amid the state’s political crisis. In a statement released on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, Governor Fubara addressed and dismissed these claims.

The governor also refuted reports of explosions targeting oil and gas facilities in certain communities, noting that local leaders have debunked these claims and assured that critical infrastructure remains secure and operational.

Governor Fubara emphasized his commitment to maintaining peace and security in Rivers State, stating that he has no affiliations with any militant groups and would not support actions that could jeopardize public safety or the economy. He also warned against the spread of false information and cautioned bloggers and social media users against creating tension through unverified reports.

These developments occur amidst a backdrop of political tension in Rivers State, with federal authorities citing intelligence reports of planned disruptions to oil infrastructure as a justification for recent interventions.

Governor Fubara continues to advocate for peaceful dialogue and urges all parties to refrain from actions that could escalate tensions or harm the state’s stability.
