Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has suspended all ongoing civil service recruitment and directed a thorough review of employment activities carried out since May 2024.
This decision follows reports of irregularities, including the issuance of backdated appointment letters by some ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs).
The governor emphasized his commitment to fairness and merit-based hiring practices, stating that all future employment exercises must be competitive and transparent.
Heads of MDAs have been ordered to halt any recruitment processes immediately and comply with the investigation into these practices.
