Abia’s Educational Reform: Governor Otti Stops PTA Fee Collection

Abia State Governor Alex Otti has abolished all forms of payments in public primary and secondary schools across the state, including Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) levies.

This initiative aims to remove financial barriers to education, ensuring that every child in Abia State receives free and compulsory education.

Governor Otti emphasized the importance of education as a fundamental right and urged parents, guardians, and communities to take full advantage of this opportunity.

He stated, “This administration is dedicated to ensuring that no child is left out of school due to financial challenges. We are committed to building a brighter future for Abia State through quality and accessible education.”

This policy builds upon the legacy of former Governor Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, who introduced free education for primary and secondary schools during his tenure, aiming to improve literacy levels in the state.
