On January 15, 2025, at approximately 1:15 AM, five individuals were abducted from the Odo-Eku community in the Isin Local Government Area of Kwara State. The victims, all Hausa farmers residing in the area, include a woman, her daughter, another woman who was visiting, and two men.
The assailants, believed to be kidnappers, stormed the community under the cover of darkness, firing sporadically to create panic among residents. During the chaos, they abducted the five individuals and took them to an unknown location.
In response to the incident, the Kwara State Police Command has deployed officers, along with local vigilante groups and hunters, to locate and rescue the victims. The police have assured the community that efforts are underway to secure the safe return of the abducted individuals.
Community leaders, including the Odofin of Odo-Eku, Elder Ogundeji, have expressed deep concern over the incident and are collaborating with law enforcement agencies to ensure the victims’ safe return.
