On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at approximately 10 p.m., Inspector Nathaniel Kumashe of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) was abducted from his residence in Tse Aboh, Uchi-Mbakor, Tarka Local Government Area, Benue State. The incident occurred shortly after he returned from a wake-keep for his late cousin.
According to reports, armed assailants fired gunshots to disperse family members and neighbors before forcibly taking Inspector Kumashe to an undisclosed location. Local youths initiated an immediate search, and personnel from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) joined the efforts.
Authorities believe the kidnappers may have moved the victim to a hideout in the neighboring Guma Local Government Area.
The Benue State Police Command has been notified, and investigations are underway to secure Inspector Kumashe’s safe release. The FRSC and other security agencies are collaborating to address the situation.
