Gunmen Ambush Residents in Plateau: Three Killed

Plateau Attack: Gunmen Kill Three Residents

On the night of Sunday, March 23, 2025, gunmen ambushed residents of Dundu village in the Kwall District of Irigwe Chiefdom, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, resulting in the deaths of three individuals: John Avia (48), Sunday Vickson (32), and Peter Vickson (30).

The victims were reportedly attacked around 9:24 PM while returning home on motorcycles; the assailants shot them at close range before fleeing the scene.

This incident adds to a series of violent attacks in the region. Just two weeks prior, suspected Fulani militiamen were reported to have destroyed crops in the same area.

The persistent insecurity has raised concerns among residents and local authorities, highlighting the urgent need for enhanced security measures to protect communities in Plateau State.
