Gunmen Attack Catholic Seminary in Edo: Priest Kidnapped in Shocking Incident

In a troubling incident, two Catholic priests, Rev. Fr. Peter Udo of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Uromi and Rev. Fr. Philemon Oboh from St. Joseph Retreat Centre in Ugboha, Edo State, were abducted by gunmen on their way from Benin City back to Uromi.

The attack happened along the Benin-Auchi Road as they were returning from a religious event.

The Edo State Police Command has confirmed the kidnappings and deployed officers to locate and rescue the priests.

This incident follows a recent trend of similar kidnappings targeting clergy in Nigeria, contributing to heightened concerns around safety and security for religious figures in the region.

Local leaders and communities have called for prayers and support for their safe release.
