Gunmen Kill Two, Abduct 12 Passengers in Benue

Tragic Incident: Two Killed, 12 Abducted in Benue

​On April 3, 2025, gunmen ambushed a Benue Links Nigeria Limited bus traveling from Makurdi to Otukpo in Benue State, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and the abduction of 12 passengers. The attack occurred near Otukpo Burnt Bricks, where the assailants fatally shot the bus driver, Mr. Samuel Agege, and a front-seat passenger. While attempting to abduct the remaining passengers, three individuals managed to escape, and another had previously disembarked at Taraku Town.

The management of Benue Links condemned the attack, expressing condolences to the families of the deceased and solidarity with those whose loved ones were abducted. They assured the public of ongoing communication with security agencies, who are actively working to rescue the kidnapped passengers. ​

The Benue State Police Command confirmed the incident, stating that details would be provided as the investigation progresses.
