Gunmen Kill Two Brothers in Taraba: A Tragic Incident

Tragedy in Taraba: Brothers Killed by Gunmen

On April 4, 2025, two brothers, Moses Amasandi Basungyu (21) and Moses Mikhinma Basungyu, were tragically killed by gunmen in Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State. The siblings, both students at the Federal University Wukari, were attacked while on their way to the farm.

The Executive Chairman of Wukari LGA, Honourable Dauda Agbu Samaila, attributed the attack to suspected Tiv militias operating in the region.

This incident is part of a series of violent attacks in Taraba State. Notably, in September 2023, two siblings were killed in Divoh village, Ardo Kola LGA. Additionally, in June 2024, two residents were killed in Bali LGA by unidentified gunmen. These recurring attacks have raised concerns about the security situation in the state.
