The Jigawa State Hisbah Board recently seized 78 cartons of assorted alcoholic beverages in Kazaure Local Government Area.
The operation targeted three beer parlors during an early morning raid, but no arrests were made as the owners fled before Hisbah personnel arrived.
This action is part of the state government’s broader effort to enforce Sharia law, which prohibits the sale and consumption of alcohol in the state.
The confiscated items are expected to be taken to court for further action.
