During a UEFA Nations League match between Hungary and the Netherlands, Hungary’s assistant coach Adam Szalai collapsed near the team bench just seven minutes after kickoff.
He displayed concerning symptoms, such as twitching, prompting a 13-minute pause in the game as he was rushed to the hospital.
Fortunately, Szalai later confirmed on social media that he was stable and recovering well.
The match resumed after the incident, with Hungary choosing to continue playing. The Netherlands eventually secured a 4-0 victory.
Dutch captain Virgil van Dijk praised Hungary’s resilience and decision to continue the game, describing it as a show of strength under challenging circumstances.
