Black Bands for COAS Lagbaja: IGP’s Directive to Police Officers

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) has directed police officers across Nigeria to wear black armbands in honor of the late Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja.

This act of mourning and solidarity is meant to show respect for the fallen COAS, who was known for his service and dedication to Nigeria’s military.

The IGP’s directive reflects the close ties and mutual respect between the Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Police Force.

Police officers nationwide are expected to observe this gesture for an established period to commemorate the late COAS’s contributions to national security.
