IPOB Urges Igbos Abroad to Return Home with Safety Assurances

Return Home Safely: IPOB’s Promise to Igbos in the Diaspora

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has called on Igbo individuals in the diaspora to return to southeastern Nigeria, assuring them of protection during the upcoming Christmas and New Year celebrations.

IPOB spokesperson Emma Powerful emphasized that the group, along with its armed wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN), is committed to ensuring a peaceful environment for the festive period.

In addition to security assurances, IPOB has encouraged diaspora Igbo to invest in the southeastern region to stimulate economic growth and create employment opportunities for local youth.

The group also advocates for the dismantling of security checkpoints in the area, citing concerns over harassment and extortion by security personnel.
