Businessman Isaac Fayose recently emphasized the importance of supporting one’s family, stating, “Charity begins at home. If you don’t look after your family, then you don’t have the right to ask for their loyalty.”
Fayose’s remarks come amid a public dispute between musician Burna Boy and socialite Cubana Chief Priest.
The conflict escalated when Burna Boy gifted $30,000 to a man claiming to be Chief Priest’s brother, prompting Chief Priest to deny the familial connection and assert that he owes nothing to his relatives.
In response, Fayose criticized individuals who neglect their families, suggesting that such neglect can lead relatives to align with adversaries. He stated, “The family you neglect will abandon you in your day of sorrow.”
Fayose’s comments highlight the cultural expectation that individuals should support their families to foster loyalty and unity.
