Jay-Z’s legal team has requested the dismissal of a rape lawsuit filed against him, following an interview in which the accuser acknowledged inconsistencies in her allegations.
The woman, who was 13 years old in 2000, claims she was assaulted by Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs after an MTV Video Music Awards after-party.
In a recent NBC interview, she admitted to errors in identifying individuals and details of the event, leading Jay-Z’s attorneys to argue that the lawsuit lacks merit.
Additionally, attorney Tony Buzbee has accused Jay-Z’s Roc Nation of employing unethical tactics, such as using “shadowy operatives” and “fake badges,” to pressure his clients into suing him.
Buzbee filed a lawsuit in Texas, alleging misconduct aimed at intimidating his firm to abandon cases, including the rape allegations against Jay-Z and Combs. Roc Nation has dismissed these claims as a diversion.
Both Jay-Z and Combs have denied the allegations, with Jay-Z describing the claims as a blackmail attempt.
