The brother of late Nollywood actor Ernest Asuzu has been fatally shot in Johannesburg, South Africa. Reports indicate that following his death, his South African ex-wife allegedly took possession of his body, preventing his Nigerian family from conducting burial rites.
A video circulating online shows a Nigerian man, identified as Mr. Ade, expressing distress over the situation. He claims that the deceased’s ex-wife has refused to release the body to his family in Nigeria, thereby hindering their ability to perform traditional burial ceremonies.
As of now, there has been no official statement from South African authorities regarding the incident. The Nigerian community in Johannesburg is reportedly seeking intervention from both Nigerian and South African officials to resolve the matter and ensure the deceased receives appropriate burial rites.
