A Kaduna Chief Magistrates’ Court has sentenced 23-year-old Rabiu Gambo to sweep the court premises for 40 days after he pleaded guilty to stealing a wallet.
The incident occurred on December 27, 2024, when Gambo stole a wallet belonging to Yusuf Mai-shago of Ungwan Sarki, Kaduna. The wallet contained N50,000, two ATM cards, and other identification cards.
Magistrate Ibrahim Emmanuel noted that the court was lenient because Gambo’s guilty plea saved judicial time.
He warned Gambo to desist from future crimes, emphasizing that the sentence should serve as a deterrent to others.
The prosecutor, Inspector Chidi Leo, stated that Gambo’s actions contravened the Penal Code of Kaduna State, 2017.
