Kidnappers in Kaduna State have demanded a ransom of N100 million for the release of Pastor Samson Ndah Ali, a 30-year-old cleric with the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA). Pastor Ali was abducted from his residence in Kudenda, Kaduna South Local Government Area, in the early hours of Tuesday, April 8, 2025.
According to reports, the kidnappers contacted Pastor Ali’s family shortly after the abduction to make their ransom demand. The family and church members are currently seeking assistance to secure his safe release.
This incident is part of a troubling pattern of abductions targeting religious leaders and worshippers in Kaduna State. In June 2022, terrorists attacked two churches in Kajuru Local Government Area, abducting several worshippers and demanding a similar ransom of N100 million for their release.
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has expressed deep concern over these recurrent attacks and called on the government to intensify efforts to improve security and protect citizens. CAN emphasizes the need for proactive measures to prevent further incidents and ensure the safety of religious leaders and their congregations.
Local authorities have acknowledged the situation and assure the public that security agencies are working diligently to locate and rescue Pastor Ali. They urge residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement agencies promptly.
