Kaduna Troops Capture Alleged Gunrunner

Troops Detain Gunrunner in Kaduna Operation

In January 2025, troops from Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) Sector 7 conducted a successful operation in Fadiya village, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, apprehending a notorious gunrunner and his son.

The suspects were identified as 62-year-old Timothy Yusuf and his son, Timothy Obadiah. The operation led to the recovery of 11 fabricated rifles, two AK-47 magazines, and 60 rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition.

The suspects are currently in custody, assisting with further investigations. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend other members of the gunrunning syndicate.

This operation underscores the Nigerian military’s commitment to curbing illegal arms trafficking and enhancing security in Kaduna State and surrounding regions. Authorities continue to urge citizens to provide information on criminal activities to support these efforts.
