Major General Muhammad Inuwa Idris (Rtd), the Kano State Commissioner for Internal Security and Special Services, has resigned from his position.
Governor Abba Yusuf has accepted his resignation and expressed gratitude for Idris’s contributions to the state. No official reason has been provided for his departure.
Idris was appointed in August 2024 as the inaugural commissioner of the newly established ministry, where he played a pivotal role in setting up its operational framework.
His resignation marks the second departure from the Kano State Executive Council in 2025, following the earlier resignation of Mohammed Diggol, the Commissioner for Project Monitoring and Evaluation.
The Kano State government has not yet announced a successor for the position.
