The Katsina State Government has honored Malama Amina Abdulkadir-Yanmama with a ₦500,000 reward and a commendation certificate for her integrity in returning ₦748,320 that was mistakenly deposited into her bank account.
The funds were intended for the Federal Government’s Home Grown School Feeding Programme, which provides meals to primary school pupils.
Upon receiving the unexpected credit, Abdulkadir-Yanmama promptly reported the transaction to the Katsina State Social Investment Programme Agency, clarifying that she was not registered as a vendor for the programme.
After verifying her claim, the Executive Director of the agency, Dr. Mudassir Nasir, confirmed her honesty.
In recognition, Governor Dikko Radda directed that she be rewarded with ₦500,000, presented with a commendation letter, and offered the opportunity to participate in the next phase of the school feeding programme.
