Kenya’s High Court has rejected Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s latest attempt to halt his impeachment process.
Gachagua had sought a conservatory order to stop the Senate trial, but the court ruled against intervening, citing separation of powers.
However, the court acknowledged that the case raises significant legal questions and referred it to Chief Justice Martha Koome for further review.
The Senate’s impeachment trial against Gachagua will proceed as scheduled, following these legal developments.
