Master Warrant Officer Abdulfatai Odutola, a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer in the Nigerian Army, was tragically killed by his kidnappers following a delay in the payment of a ₦20 million ransom.
Odutola was abducted on February 15, 2025, while traveling along the Abuja-Jos highway en route to Yola, the capital of Adamawa State. Despite efforts to secure his release, the kidnappers took his life after the ransom deadline passed. His body was later discovered by police in a forested area near Jos, along with his vehicle.
