Kim Kardashian recently experienced a significant decrease in her social media following after posting a photo of First Lady Melania Trump on her Instagram story. According to analytics firm Socially Powerful, Kardashian lost approximately 144,963 followers on Instagram and 9,553 on X (formerly Twitter) following the post.
The image, which featured Melania Trump wearing a wide-brimmed hat during the inauguration, drew criticism from some of Kardashian’s followers. Critics perceived the post as an endorsement of far-right ideology, leading to calls for unfollowing her accounts and boycotting her products.
Historically, Kardashian has been associated with Democratic support. Notably, she utilized her connections with the Trump family to advocate for criminal justice reform, including lobbying for the commutation of Alice Marie Johnson’s life sentence. Despite these efforts, she has refrained from publicly endorsing any presidential candidates, focusing instead on her advocacy work.
