Lagos State Clamps Down on Supermarket for Expired Product Sales

Expired Goods Crackdown: Lagos Government Shuts Supermarket

The Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA) recently sealed a supermarket in Lagos for selling expired products.

During an inspection, several expired items, including Tomi Apple Drink and other consumables unfit for human consumption, were discovered.

The supermarket’s actions violated the Lagos State Consumer Protection Law of 2014, which protects consumers from hazardous goods.

LASCOPA General Manager, Afolabi Solebo, emphasized that such enforcement serves as a deterrent to retailers who disregard consumer rights.

The agency also encouraged the public to report businesses involved in the sale of unsafe products
