Atlanta rapper Lil Baby and his legal team have strongly refuted claims made by the Atlanta Police Department (APD) linking him to the tragic deaths of two 13-year-old boys. The controversy stems from a press conference held by APD Homicide Commander Maj. Ralph Woolfolk, who suggested that a shooting at a music video shoot in May 2024, allegedly involving Lil Baby, escalated tensions between rival gangs, culminating in the fatal shooting of the teenagers in July 2024.
In response, Lil Baby’s attorneys, Drew Findling and Marissa Goldberg, issued a statement denouncing the police’s assertions as “complete and total nonsense.” They emphasized that decisions regarding music video locations are made by professional teams, not individuals, and criticized the APD’s remarks as “unprofessional, unethical, and shameful.” The legal team highlighted Lil Baby’s commitment to uplifting his community and expressed his devastation over the incident, noting that the victims hailed from the same neighborhood as the rapper.
The APD has arrested seven individuals in connection with the July 2024 shooting, identifying them as members of the “Goodfellas” gang. Authorities allege that the incident was part of an ongoing feud between the “Four Pockets Full” (4PF) and “Only My Family” (OMF) gangs, with Lil Baby purportedly linked to OMF.
Lil Baby, whose real name is Dominique Jones, took to social media to thank fans for their support and cautioned against believing “fake news.” As the investigation continues, his legal team has not indicated whether they plan to pursue further action against the police department.
