Major General Jemitola Passes Away at IBB Golf Club

Tragic Incident: Obasanjo’s Ex-ADC Dies on Golf Course

Major General Chris Jemitola (retired), who served as the Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to former President Olusegun Obasanjo from 2003 to 2007, tragically passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025. He collapsed at the IBB International Golf and Country Club in Abuja and was promptly taken to the hospital, where he was declared dead upon arrival.

Throughout his distinguished military career, Major General Jemitola held several key positions, including Director of Defence Information, Nigeria’s Defence Attaché to Brazil, and Chief of Policy and Plans (COPP) at the Nigerian Army Headquarters before his retirement.

After retiring from active military service, he transitioned into the private sector, serving as a Senior Advisor for Military Communications at Pinnacle Communications Limited as of 2019.
