Man Arrested in Eatery Phone Theft: How CCTV Led to Quick Police Action

Caught on CCTV: Police Arrest Suspect in Phone Theft at Local Eatery

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a man, Ifeanyi Okonkwo, after he was caught on CCTV stealing a Samsung A15 phone at an eatery in Alausa, Ikeja.

The incident initially occurred on November 7, 2024, when Okonkwo stole the phone left unattended by another customer.

Unaware that the restaurant staff had been monitoring the footage, he revisited the same eatery on December 5, leading to his prompt arrest by the Rapid Response Squad (RRS).

The stolen phone was recovered from the individual who had purchased it from him. Okonkwo has since been charged in court.
