The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has arrested Anthony Chidi at Mile 3 Market, Diobu, Port Harcourt, for producing counterfeit alcoholic beverages.
The operation uncovered various fake materials used in the production, including labels and chemicals for gin, whisky, brandy, schnapps, and strawberry flavor.
Empty bottles, corks, and cartons of different brands such as Gulder, Hennessy, and Four Cousins were also found. Additionally, a store containing already produced illicit drinks was sealed, with the owner fleeing upon sighting NAFDAC officials.
