Manchester City has officially signed Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt. The 25-year-old joins on a four-and-a-half-year contract, committing to the club until the summer of 2029.
The transfer fee is reported to be €70 million (£59.1 million), with an additional €5 million (£4.2 million) in potential bonuses.
This acquisition marks City’s third signing of the January transfer window, following the arrivals of defenders Vitor Reis and Abdukodir Khusanov.
Marmoush has been in exceptional form, scoring 15 goals in 17 Bundesliga matches this season. Since joining Frankfurt in 2023, he has accumulated 37 goals and 20 assists in 67 appearances.
His versatility allows him to operate across various attacking positions, including as a central striker and on both wings.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Marmoush stated, “This is a day I will never forget… I want to learn from the staff and my teammates, and I want to become a valued member of this winning team.”
Director of Football Txiki Begiristain praised Marmoush’s attributes, highlighting his “outstanding pace and awareness” and describing him as “exceptional in front of goal.”
In a related development, veteran defender Kyle Walker has agreed to a loan move to AC Milan for the remainder of the season, with an option for a permanent transfer in the summer.
