The Lagos State Police Command has launched a manhunt for the owner of an apartment where a cache of firearms was recently discovered.
During a targeted raid on uncompleted and unoccupied buildings in the Ajah area, law enforcement officers recovered five rifles concealed within an unoccupied shanty. The recovered firearms include three European-made pump-action rifles and two locally made rifles.
The Commissioner of Police has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department to conduct a thorough investigation to apprehend the individual responsible for storing these weapons.
This operation is part of the police’s ongoing efforts to enforce the Inspector General of Police’s directive on mopping up illegal and prohibited firearms.
