The Benue State chapter of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has raised concerns over the alleged poisoning of 20 cows in Agatu Local Government Area.
According to MACBAN’s chairman, Risku Muhammed, a member was reportedly invited by an individual to graze his cattle on a field laced with poisoned rice chaff, leading to the death of the animals.
In response, the Benue State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a suspect linked to the incident. The authorities are currently conducting investigations to determine the motive behind the act and to ensure justice is served.
