NACA Guarantees Steady Supply of HIV Drugs for Nigerians

Nigerians Assured of Consistent HIV Drug Supply by NACA

The National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA) has assured Nigerians, especially those living with HIV, of a continuous and steady supply of antiretroviral drugs, despite recent concerns about potential disruptions.

Government Initiatives to Ensure Uninterrupted Supply:

  • Financial Allocations: The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved $1.07 billion for healthcare sector reforms under the Human Capital Opportunities for Prosperity and Equity (HOPE) programme. Additionally, ₦4.8 billion has been earmarked specifically for HIV treatment.
  • Budgetary Enhancements: The Nigerian Senate has allocated an extra ₦300 billion to the health sector in the 2025 budget. Furthermore, ₦700 billion has been designated to combat HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, and to bolster immunisation efforts nationwide.

NACA’s Commitment:

NACA remains dedicated to the fight against HIV/AIDS, ensuring that all Nigerians have access to quality HIV prevention, treatment, and care services.

These measures underscore the Nigerian government’s proactive approach to maintaining uninterrupted HIV treatment services and its commitment to the health and well-being of its citizens.
