The Niger State Police Command has arrested 27-year-old Genesis Yaryok Sunday for allegedly kidnapping his neighbor’s six-year-old son in Ungwar-Gwari, Sabon-Wuse, Tafa Local Government Area. The incident occurred on January 30, 2025, when the child went missing around 11 a.m.
He was later found in the Jere area of Kagarko Local Government Area, Kaduna State, around 3 p.m. The boy was taken to the nearest police station and subsequently handed over to the Tafa Division of the Niger State Police Command. Following investigations, Genesis Yaryok Sunday was arrested in connection with the abduction.
In a separate incident, the police also arrested 20-year-old Lukman Aliyu for allegedly defiling a six-year-old girl in Ibeto, Magama Local Government Area. The arrest was made after the victim reported the assault, which occurred on January 29, 2025, while she was returning home from school. Medical examination confirmed the assault, and the suspect confessed to the crime during interrogation.
