Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak was targeted in a series of high-value burglaries orchestrated by a family-based criminal gang. In April 2024, thieves broke into Isak’s residence in Darras Hall, Northumberland, while he was away, stealing his Audi car, jewellery valued at approximately £68,000, and between £5,000 and £10,000 in cash.
The gang, consisting of three Italian family members, has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit burglary. A fourth member, Valentino Nikolov, is currently on trial, denying the charges. Prosecutors detailed how the group traveled from France to the UK, using vehicles such as a Citroen C3 and a Ford motorhome. Their crime spree included stealing over £1 million worth of jewellery and clothing from a Tyneside businesswoman and designer items valued over £100,000 from a victim in Sunderland.
