The Nigerian Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has successfully rescued 17 Nigerian women who were victims of human trafficking in Ghana.
The women were reportedly lured with promises of better opportunities but found themselves in exploitative situations.
NiDCOM’s intervention involved collaboration with relevant authorities in Ghana and other stakeholders dedicated to combating human trafficking.
The rescued women are now receiving support and assistance to ensure their safe return to Nigeria, along with counseling and rehabilitation services to aid their recovery from the traumatic experience.
