Nigerian Drug Lord Captured in Thailand

Cocaine Trafficker Apprehended in Thailand

On March 1, 2025, Thai authorities arrested a 37-year-old Nigerian national, identified as Ugowma J., on charges of cocaine distribution on Koh Phangan island.

The arrest followed an undercover operation where officers arranged a drug purchase near the Pantip Plaza market. Upon confirming the substance as cocaine, police apprehended the suspect, seizing 25.71 grams of the drug, a black Mazda 2 vehicle, and two mobile phones.

Investigations revealed that Ugowma was a significant drug dealer on Koh Phangan, also distributing cocaine in Phuket and Krabi. He reportedly sold one gram of cocaine for 6,000 baht and charged higher prices for deliveries to other provinces to cover additional transportation risks.
